Congratulations to...

What do you get when you put two motivated actors, a talented writer and an amazing crew together? A wonderful short film that started as a scene for the Actorswork showcase in summer of 2010. Since then this film has shown in 9 festivals and won 5 awards.

Congratulations to Lisa LeVan, Wonder Russell and Eric Campbell for epitomizing the Actorswork credo of making your own opportunities. Here is “Connect To” for your viewing enjoyment:

CONNECT TO from Lisa LeVan on Vimeo.

Connect To is a story about friendship and how two young women — in the process of running away — collide in the middle of the night. On a bus. Laurie needs sleep, while Whitney needs to finish singing all of the songs on her iPod. After a blow up at 3 am, will these two make it through the night?

Summer Intensives in the Pacific Northwest

Actorswork with Steven Anderson: SeattleSteven Anderson will be back in Washington State this August to teach two different Acting Intensives. Seattle will be the first stop on August 6 to 8 for a 3-day Acting for TV & Film workshop.  Acting for TV & Film combines Steven’s classic teachings on responsive awareness acting with the rigors of working in an on-camera setting.

Then it’s off to Orcas Island to teach the Core Tools Intensive Workshop on August 14 to 16.  CTI is a 3-day experiential workout full of exercises, tools and scene work designed to elevate your acting craft to a whole new level.  Every step of this process is intended to get the actor out of their head and living their art from an intuitive, aware, responsive part of their being.  This enhances the actor’s ability to create freely and spontaneously within the form of the scene and text, and enable them to make proactive character choices.

The Orcas Intensive is currently in preview enrollment to a select group and will open to general enrollment on June 18, 2010.

General enrollment is available at this time for the Seattle workshop.  Please contact us via email or download the workshop flyer and follow the directions for enrollment.
